INSTITUTION BUILDING

Community level people’s institution building is the key intervention and approach for ensuring sustainable development. In keeping with this, Agragamee has promoted women’s organizations at the village and block levels for initiating rights-based work for their livelihood, as well as demanding accountability and delivery in government programmes and schemes. It is remarkable that support to women’s groups and their federations has generated demonstrable impact and also empowered the whole community, giving it the confidence and voice required to assert for their due rights and privilieges. Along with social mobilization and social animation process, involvement of women membersin micro-enterprising activities is one more empowering process of Agragamee at the community level

There are three organic farmer’s federations in Kashipur Panchayat that undertake different activities like: training, transfer of technology, certification, grading, sorting, processing and marketing the organic products.
The major thrust in the watershed development programmes has been community mobilization. A Watershed Users Society (WSUS) of men and women members selected by the entire village is promoted in every watershed area, and supported for registration under the SRA, 1860. 8 WSUSs have already been promoted in 10 watershed areas.
